It appears that we obviously have conflicting data.

"Open pelvic fractures are considered the "lethal" orthopaedic injury, with a mortality rate in the literature of anywhere from 6% to 70%.[4] Recent reports show a mortality rate of 25% to 30%.[1-4]"
